Cross Country
Cross country has been one of the most rewarding and challenging parts of my high school experience. Since freshman year, I have competed as one of my school’s top seven varsity runners, training alongside teammates who continually push me to improve. The sport has taught me that progress comes from consistency—showing up every day, embracing difficult workouts, and trusting the process even when improvement is measured in seconds.
Competing at the CIAC and CCC Championships and placing 10th at the 2023 CCC Freshman Championship are accomplishments I am proud of, but some of my most meaningful experiences have come from training and competing as part of a team. Cross country has taught me to push through discomfort, celebrate my teammates’ successes, recover from disappointing races, and return to practice ready to try again. More than any finish time, that combination of perseverance and team spirit is what has kept me running.

Lacrosse and other sports
I am always ready to contribute wherever my team needs me. Since 2023, I have played on both the junior varsity and varsity girls’ lacrosse teams, moving between the two as a swing player and becoming one of the leading scorers on JV. Whether competing for playing time, stepping into a different role, or cheering from the sideline, I have learned that being a good teammate means staying prepared, positive, and willing to contribute in whatever way I can.
Beyond school athletics, I love staying active with my family. Skiing is one of my favorite hobbies—the challenge of navigating a new trail is even better when surrounded by the beauty of the mountains. I also love ice skating and playing tennis with my mom, when we have time to talk, laugh, and encourage each other. These experiences remind me that sports are not always about competition or results; sometimes they are simply about sharing an experience with people I love.
Music Achievements
Music has been a constant part of my high school experience and one of the ways I most enjoy connecting with others. As a flutist, I have performed with the Greater Hartford Youth Wind Ensemble since 2024 and have been recognized annually as an Honor Wind/Brass student at the Hartt School Community Division since 2023. I was also selected for one of first flutists in Wind Band and one of 3 Orchestra flutists in regional festivals and Flutist I for the New England Music Festival Association (NEMFA) in consecutive years.
Some of my most meaningful musical experiences, however, have happened outside the concert hall. Through Hartt’s Youth 2 Community program, I perform regularly at senior living communities and mentor younger musicians preparing for regional auditions. Sharing music with older adults and helping younger students develop their own confidence have shown me that music can create connections across generations.
These experiences have made music more than an individual pursuit for me. I still love the challenge of improving my own playing and performing with an ensemble, but I have also come to value the simple joy of sharing something I love with other people.
